Protoliminal is a digital home for Gabriela Ilijeska, a filmmaker, visual artist, and technologist.

Her work draws inspiration from quantum theory, exploring liminal spaces where science and consciousness meet. Working across live-action film, motion design, and writing, she investigates the thresholds between inner experience, perception, and technology. She also experiments with human-AI collaboration through her new channel, @exoliminals.

Gabriela’s films have screened internationally, receiving honors including the Directors’ Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Short at Sedona Intl. Film Festival, the Grand Prize at Meeting Rimini Film Festival, and a Jerome Foundation Media Grant.
